Flash!Mob October26: DON'T LOOK BACK

The FLASH!MOB prompt for October 2026 is DON'T LOOK BACK...

300 to 1k wobbly words... any genre... any style... go wild with the whatifs!

What if...

• an ancient curse is said to turn a stranger to stone if they look back before leaving a village...
• you're sure there's a clown following you...
• looking back through old photographs, you find one you've never seen before that you don't recognise...
• the rear view mirror of the car suddenly goes black...

Any of these or whatever springs to mind... have fun and happy writing.

Deadline: 30th October 2026

Please email stories to: submissions@harveyduckman.com with the subject line LOOK and please check out our submission guidelines so you know what you're letting yourself in for (original work only, fiction or creative non-fiction welcome, no AI, no fee, no royalties, for fun only, minimal admin and correspondence, all proceeds to the Harvey project for future stuff...).

A note on naming Word files: if you could please name your Word document in the following format - LOOK title of story YOUR NAME.docx - that would be much appreciated!

A note on wobbly word counts: 300 words is just a rough guide... anything up to 1k words or so is fine xx
