What if...

• a mysterious stone monument appears overnight?
• the laws of physics suddenly become 'set in stone', unchangeable and absolute?
• a sculptor discovers the ability to bring their creations to life?
• a prophecy carved into ancient stone tablets foretells the end of the world?
• an ancient civilization left behind a series of stone puzzles?
• the memories of a person can be changed by engraving them onto stones?
• a modern-day medussa loses control over her powers?
• a stone gargoyle watching over the city decides it's had enough?
• the first footstep on an alien world kicks over a stone that squashes the leader of an indigenous race?
• a curse scratched onto a stone sets an alternate history into motion?
• a stone statue comes to life?

Any of these or whatever springs to mind... have fun and happy writing.
