March26: Update, news and events
Latest book releases, writing challenges and upcoming events...
Hey everyone,
Greetings at the Spring Equinox. Lots to catch up on so I thought we'd send a full update!
Dark Pagan Mythos: Knot on Tree
The latest Harvey is out now in Kindle, paperback and hardcover, featuring stories from Mary F. Carr, Liam Nicholl, Laura Liptrot, Anna Atkinson-Dunn, Keith Errington and Nimue Brown, John Holmes-Carrington, Kate Baucherel, Steven C. Davis, Mark Hayes, Ben Sawyer, Christine King, Allison Kotzigova, H.C. Ricci, James Waite and M. Stern.

"This collection will satisfy readers who crave mythic and historical fantasy at its darkest: unsettling, immersive, and very much alive."
Harvey Baskets
The current basket that is open for submissions is DARK URBAN FANTASY, deadline midnight 29th May 2026. As usual, we're after witchcraft, folklore, magical realism, supernatural and paranormal... and the darker, the better! Old magic in unexpected places...
After that, the next basket will be POST APOCALYPSE, deadline 28th August 2026. Any timeframe or era, any catastrophe or cataclysmic goings on, we like dark, evocative, thought-provoking, character-driven and quirky.
As always, Harvey stories are 3k-6k words and we offer a £10 payment (rights remain with the author) for any stories accepted for publication.

The Soup of Causality
Sneak peek at the new cover for the upcoming Harvey SciFi that is due out on April 17th... (links to follow!) We have a wonderful line-up of writers in this collection - full list to be revealed soon.

At Last! Free Harvey Duckman!
And keep an eye out for the upcoming Free Harvey Duckman, featuring all our favourite Harvey stories and writers of all time! This collection includes twenty-eight stories showcasing the best of our four main baskets: Dark Fantasy, Alternate Reality, SciFi and Urban Fantasy. This special edition will be available free to download in all eBook formats, but will also be available to buy in paperback and hardcover too.

Flash!Mob
This month's prompt for the 300-500 word flash fiction challenge is A BRIDGE TOO FAR. We have some fab stories already and there's quite a contest to see who gets in with the first Flash!Mob story of the month. This month the winner is Jo Cross with a story submitted at 22.34 on the 1st!

Last month's SPILL THE BEANS is available now in Kindle and paperback on Amazon.

The Round Robin!
It took a bit of persuading before I jumped into this but I must admit, it's been such a laugh watching the instalments come in! Thank you to Mr B and Phil S for running with this idea.
We had so many writers sign up for this mad challenge that we had to reduce the timescale to just 48 hours to return an instalment! And every one has been brilliant!
We're up to chapter 29 and the Round Robin, which has been around the UK, across the pond to the US and back, twice, over to Eastern Europe and goodness knows where else, is shaping up to be a wonderful, bonkers, insane tale of sci-fi horror!

Look out for the complete story which will be published in its entirety here as soon as it's finished, and if you'd like to sign up for the next Harvey Duckman Round Robin, watch out for announcements soon!

Upcoming Events
We have a full calendar of events again! Please pop along for a chat about writing, publishing, Harvey Duckman and the Robinson House Writers and to buy some awesome signed books and stuff. If you'd like to reserve a copy of any of the Harvey paperbacks, please drop me an email in advance.

My Stuff
Having just ditched another 30k words... I am back on track and cracking on with the next Thieves' Guild book.
If you haven't read them yet and you like fast-paced sci-fi, the first one is free to read in all eBook formats.

Author Mentoring
I have some availability in the next couple of months for author mentoring sessions. These are £50/session (90 minutes in person in Norton - at La Porto - or on Zoom) if you'd like to have a productive chat about your works in progress, an insight into the publishing process or practical advice on writing (fiction and non-fiction) and publishing.
Please drop me an email if you'd like more info.
Thanks for being part of all this! As always, happy writing!
